Champion the 2D / brand communications skill area and provide overall design leadership to create breakthrough, differentiated customer experiences for local and international clients. This may include retail stores, in-store communication, brand identity, digital touch-points (in-store, on-line & mobile), pop-ups, showrooms, dealerships, exhibitions, and in-store merchandising. Working in teams to develop solutions that integrate 2D, 3D and digital design and maintaining, at all times, the highest standards of design and client management.


• Lead creative presentations and orchestrate other team members to present work
• Key client contact for all creative issues
• Active involvement in generation of new business
• Management and direction of design projects through the full IDEA process (across designated insights, strategy, design and production teams)
• Leads projects using the customer journey model
• Works closely with the insights/marketing team to analyse client brands, customers, competitors, insights and market trends – then translates this understanding into a design strategy and big idea
• Oversee the full design process – from concept generation, design development, artwork, guidelines development and implementation management
• Ensures every project is captured as a case study / credential (visuals, photos, video, copy)
• Lead multi-skilled teams of designers (2D, 3D & digital), including initial briefings, day-to-day direction, storyboarding, creative review meetings, ensuring that designers are an integrated and focused part of the studio.
• Proactively develop inspirational initiatives for the design team and promote and develop creative thinking across the Company
• Mentor and nurture the senior members of the 2D team in order to motivate and inspire, both personally and professionally; reviewing and performing appraisals of team members, highlighting performance issues and training requirements for individual designers
• Keep the Creative Director and HR informed of design team related issues
• Develop links with counter-part team members from different functional areas within the studio
• Proactively looks for new business opportunities with their clients
• Contribute proactively to business development efforts, pitches, existing client opportunities, pitch presentations and proposal writing with regards to defining the scope of work, preparing fees and timelines and scrutinising budgets – all in conjunction with the Client Services team
• Joint responsibility with Client Director for project efficiency
• Contribute to annual strategy and budget planning plus quarterly reporting updates
